The Diddy Trial was a 7 week lowlight reel of some of the most sordid actions of one of the biggest and most notable Gangsta Freaks in American History. Baby oil, semen cover nipples, male prostitutes, sex toys, scorched cars and sick ass women (looking at you Daphne Joy) willing to do anything to stay in the good graces of The Diddler. As shocking as it was, the prosecution forgot one important detail... TO PROVE THEIR FUCKIN CASE!! Today we discuss all the ins and outs of the trial, Brian Steele coming to save the day, the defense declining to present any witnesses and the prosecutors playing grab ass instead of proving a slam dunk case.
But before all that, we also get into the biggest local issue there is which is the current strike of DC33. The City of Philadelphia is the oldest city in America and because of that we rely on tradition and history far too much at times. One of the huge historical detriments is how our city government elects to solve problems and budget deficits via the constant presence of taxes!! We already have larger sales tax than any other city or county in the state; as well as The Soda Tax and Philadelphia Wage Tax issued to all employees.
The BIRT (Business Income Receipts Tax) was introduced in 2018 as an additional tax measure to all businesses and is essentially a double tax on all business related revenue. Because of the presence of this tax and the city being unwilling to offer huge companies any significant abatements from it, the city has constantly missed out on other tax related revenue and economic impacts these companies would offer by headquartering in Philadelphia.
Today I am joined by two people who are both familiar with the BIRT Tax and are working to help abolish it or lessen its impact by assuring the $100,000 income threshold stays in place. These people are Founder/President/CEO of Empower Construction, William Bowie and Director of Special Projects for Councilman Isaiah Thomas Office, Preston Tilghman. Today they help navigate and simplify this complex topic by getting to the crux of the issue and encouraging all independent contractors and business owners to make their presence felt to all relevant city officials on this important matter.

The FIFA World Cup is coming to 16 North America cities in the Summer of 2026 and our home city of Philadelphia was selected for 3 weeks of tournament competition (June 11th to June 4th, 2026); and a 40 day celebration of all things fútbol throughout the tourney (FANFEST). Today's episode was recorded at the global headquarters for Philadelphia Soccer. Philly Soccer is 501(c)3 non profit organization that handles all things World Cup & FIFA for the city of Philadelphia. This includes the bid process, welcome committee, fundraising , marketing, outreach and so much more.
We had the pleasure of having a 90+ minute conversation with the CEO of Philly Soccer, Meg Kane, who is a titan in the world of hospitality, tourism and large event strategy. Her resume includes coordinating the 2015 Papal Visit and World Meeting of Families. Joining us as well, is Philly Soccer's Director of Impact, Jonathan Todd who's past work as Director of Talent Acquisition for the City of Philadelphia and Director of DEI for Rivers Casino made him a shoe in for his latest position.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup that took place in Qatar made them the focus of the world and we expect nothing less for the 2026 World Cup Festivities taking place throughout Canada, Mexico and the US of A.
